International Yoga Day Celebration
The International Day of Yoga is observed globally on 21 June, a date selected for its significance as the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere. Officially adopted by the United Nations in 2014 following a proposal by India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the day serves as an official UN promotion of global health, harmony, and peace.
At the ISRO Propulsion Complex (IPRC), this day is celebrated with deep institutional commitment, reflecting the understanding that physical and mental well-being are foundational to the precision required in space technology.

I. Strategic Integration of Wellness

At IPRC, the celebration of Yoga Day is not merely a ceremonial event but a strategic effort to harmonise the workplace.

• Mass Yoga Demonstrations: The core of the celebration involves a collective yoga demonstration where IPRC staff, including scientists and engineers, perform various asanas (postures) under the guidance of a master practitioner.
• Educational Outreach: The complex hosts technical talks focusing on the tangible benefits of yoga, highlighting how these practices contribute to mental clarity and physical resilience in high-pressure R&D environments.
• Workplace Wellness Resources: IPRC actively disseminates official Government of India resources, such as the "Workplace Yoga" guide, to encourage employees to integrate brief wellness intervals into their daily professional routines.
