ISSE Kanniyakumari Chapter

The Indian Society of Systems for Science and Engineering (ISSE) is a professional body for interdisciplinary collaboration of systems science and engineering. ISSE is unique among the systems oriented institutions having the objective of bringing together scholars and practitioners from academic, business and R&D organizations for promoting the systems concept. The society was started in 2010 at Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC), with its Headquarters at Thiruvananthapuram and was formally registered under the Travancore Cochin Literary Scientific and charitable societies registration act -1995. Indian Society of Systems for Science and Engineering (ISSE) – Kanniyakumari Chapter was inaugurated on 3rd December, 2020 by Dr.K.Sivan, Chairman, ISRO/Secretary, DOS.

Indian Society of Systems for Science and Engineering (ISSE) – Kanniyakumari Chapter was inaugurated on 3rd December, 2020 by Dr.K.Sivan, Chairman, ISRO/Secretary, DOS. ISSE Kanniyakumari branch has more than 200 members scientific organizations, academic institutions and majorly from ISRO Propulsions Complex, Mahendragiri. The activities of the society is managed by a board consisting of President, Vice-presidents from R&D institution, academia & Industry, secretary, treasurer and fifteen executive members.

Primary Objectives of ISSE-KKC

1.       Promote Systems Science & Engineering

Advance the study of systems in scientific and engineering contexts, emphasizing applications in science and technology that address national needs.

2.       Knowledge Sharing

Spread understanding of systems theory and its practical uses by maintaining libraries, hosting periodic conferences, and organizing similar educational activities.

3.       Encourage Excellence

Acknowledge outstanding contributions in systems science and engineering through awards and recognition for individuals and affiliated societies.

4.       Support Scientific Growth

Offer support to conduct workshops at institutions and organizations engaged in fostering science and technology initiatives.

5.       Publish Research

Produce a journal dedicated to reporting original research findings in systems science and engineering.

6.       Foster Collaboration

Establish and strengthen partnerships with other scientific and engineering societies globally.

7.       Honor Contributions

Recognize and celebrate individuals who significantly advance the society’s mission and goals.

 Activities of ISSE KKC
  • The ISSE KKC branch hosts national and international conferences covering systems science, engineering applications, and emerging technologies for members to collaborate, build professional networks, and exchange ideas.

  • The branch has a newsletter VISION which is carefully curated  with a comprehensive repository of materials dedicated to systems theory and engineering practice.

  • The branch conducts workshops, webinars, seminars and guides academic clubs for knowledge dissemination.

  • ISSE-KKC is also involved in outreach programs for graduates of Engineering and Science discipline to develop the culture of system engineering.

  • The society organizes expos to create opportunity for engagement of professions with other scientific and engineering societies, governmental agencies, or industry forums to foster joint initiatives and multidisciplinary research.

  • The chapter hosts, the two days ISSE National Annual Conference in association with IPRC, Mahendragiri.
