Republic Day Celebration
Republic Day is a significant national holiday in India, observed annually on 26 Januaryto commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India in 1950. This historic transition turned the nation from a dominion into a sovereign republic, marking the day the Constitution replaced the Government of India Act 1935 as the governing document. At the ISRO Propulsion Complex (IPRC) in Mahendragiri, this day is celebrated with a blend of patriotic fervour, ceremonial precision, and cultural vibrancy, reflecting the centre's commitment to national service and excellence.

I. Ceremonial Honours and National Spirit

The celebrations at IPRC align with national customs, where the spirit of Purna Swaraj (complete independence) is honoured through formal ceremonies.

• Flag Unfurling: Following the national tradition where the President of India unfurls the tricolour at the capital, the leadership at IPRC leads the flag unfurling ceremony at the Mahendragiri campus, situated amidst the majestic Western Ghats.
• Commemoration of Progress: The event serves as a platform to reflect on India’s journey from its first Republic Day in 1950 to its current status as a global space power. It is a day to acknowledge the "great determination" required to step ahead as a nation.

II. CISF Tactical Demonstrations: Precision and Valour
A hallmark of the Republic Day celebrations at IPRC is the breathtaking tactical demonstration performed by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) unit. These displays showcase the "painstaking point work" and "flowing and precise actions" required to safeguard the nation’s strategic assets.

III. Cultural Mosaic: Unity in Diversity

The celebration transitions from tactical precision to an artistic "blend of rhythm and heritage," involving the IPRC CISF community and their families.

• Children’s Performances: The "blooming buddies" and "kutties" of the IPRC CISF family entertain the audience with patriotic song dances and theme-based performances that capture the mysterious beauty of dance and the spirit of the current era.Children’s Performances: The "blooming buddies" and "kutties" of the IPRC CISF family entertain the audience with patriotic song dances and theme-based performances that capture the mysterious beauty of dance and the spirit of the current era.
• Folk and Heritage: To honour the nation's diverse classiness, Force Personnel perform traditional Indian folk dances, bringing the music to life with colourful and rhythmic movements.

IV. A Legacy of Self-Reliance
Celebrating Republic Day at Mahendragiri carries a unique significance, as the centre itself is a symbol of Indian self-reliance (Atmanirbhar Bharat). From the first hot test in 1985 to the qualification of engines for the Gaganyaan mission, IPRC’s achievements are a testament to the constitutional vision of a progressive, scientifically advanced republic.
