Commitment to Excellence: IPRC is governed by an unwavering commitment to innovation, quality, and safety. As the primary hub for propulsion validation, our policy is designed to ensure that every rocket system, engine, and component tested within our complex meets the most stringent performance and reliability requirements. We take pride in delivering mission-critical hardware that adheres to the highest international standards, ensuring India’s standing in the competitive global space arena.
IPRC Quality Policy
The Zero-Defect Mandate Central to our operational philosophy is the "Zero-Defect" demand of the Indian space programme. This mandate drives our meticulous planning and execution across all phases of the propulsion lifecycle—from component welding and sub-system assembly to final stage integration. This rigorous approach is particularly vital for human-rated missions, such as Gaganyaan, where reliability and safety are paramount.
Core Pillars of Quality Assurance IPRC maintains its quality leadership through four strategic pillars:
• Precision and Reliability: Our Assembly, Integration and Test facilities, Measurement and calibration laboratories, are dedicated to delivering precise and timely results, ensuring the structural and functional integrity of various propulsion systems.
• Standardisation and Compliance: IPRC operates in strict compliance with ISO 9001:2015 standards, demonstrating a formal and systematic commitment to global quality management practices.
• Continual Improvement: We actively conduct Research & Development (R&D) and Technology Development Programmes (TDP) to foster the continual improvement of our contributions to ISRO’s space research.
• Stringent Environmental Simulation: By utilizing state-of-the-art facilities that simulate the demanding operational environments of space—including high-altitude and cryogenic conditions—we validate hardware performance under realistic stress.
Systems Reliability & Safety Governance The Systems Reliability and Safety Entity (SRSE) serves as the institutional custodian of our quality standards. SRSE is mandated to oversee safety and reliability functions across all assembly, integration, and testing activities for launch vehicles and satellite propulsion systems. Through high-energy X-ray imaging via our Linear Accelerator (LINAC) facility and advanced dimensional inspections, we ensure the "zero-defect" integrity of every flight-ready product.
